Yielding to each others' quirks does make things easier. But that is a weird phobia. It makes no sense on any level I can think of.

I would like to thaw meat in the microwave. I did it all the time before DH and I married. Then I could decide at the last moment what to eat. But DH has a phobia about microwave defrosted meat. I think it's fine, so long as you take it out before it starts to cook.

I'm glad you had a bit of fresh air.

I thaw meat in the microwave all the time. One minute on each side. The only thing I don't do it for is cuts of beef like roast or steak. Like for every meal because I don't like to cook until I know exactly what I want. As much as I love to cook, I hate cooking things I don't want to eat immediately.
