Network Security and Wi-Fi
Although deeply enamored of wi-fi and coffee, I am finding that I cannot do everything, everywhere with my netbook.
On the library network, I cannot use any social networking media. They are all blocked, which is a real bummer since I work alone irl and use Facebook, Twitter, etc, for collaboration with other humans. Also, library doesn’t open until 10am, and no coffee (obviously).
On the ATT wifi, even though I have access to it through my home dsl plan, I cannot upload photos to this blog. The really wrong thing about that is that I probably need to fix something to make it work. Ugh. It is probably a five minutes task. But not what I have planned, nor what I want to do at this moment. But I might as well check it out. I have to log into Bill the bee man site and do a re-direct anyway.
Of course, I could blame it on ATT wi-fi network and just ignore it until I have more time to investigate the problem, or enter a state of desperation to upload photos while not in the house.
Right. Have two articles to write this morning. I’ll just write some code instead, not.
Or yes. I went in the fix Bill’s site, which really, really should have taken five minutes, and discovered that Frog’s redirect is broken since the domain change. Fixed that, which did take five minutes. Then tried to fix Bill’s, which has taken three hours and is still broken. Had to open a support ticket, which I hate, hate, hate to do.
Right, this is why I’m two articles behind, because I just had to mess with the configuration and spend three hours on it instead of passing the buck off to Bluehost support.
Bah!
Possibly should eat something before meeting actual human at library.
