Eating and Shopping Are Not Related

Just because you have stopped eating, doesn’t mean that you need to stop shopping.  You can still enjoy a fully stocked pantry and icebox.  In fact, these things can be full to the brim.  At least they can if you are my grandmother.  That is what I discovered today while sorting and boxing things up in my grandmothers apartment.

I can’t actually move anything.  But her BFF and I went over there and cleaned out the refrigerator, rescued the plants, and made sure there wasn’t any trash.  Then we stuck things in boxes according to where (to whom) they will go once the legal business is settled.  And then we cleared the pantry.  I have to laugh at the six different types of pasta sauce, four different types of tomatoes, twelve different types of rice (who knew there were twelve), and six unopened imported jams.

Variety was definitely the spice of life.

My pantry looks completely different.  I do have several different types of cheese.  But generally speaking, I don’t have a variety of anything for long.  It would be more like a variety in one food category, like starch represented by potatoes, rice and pasta.

Having organized a bit, I feel significantly better.
