Publix Weekly Ad and No More Brownie Mix
Publix has this really cool tool that I just discovered. You can look at their weekly ad, then click on the items you want and they get circled and go onto a grocery list. Then you can ad whatever you want that isn’t in the ad and you have your list, with the ad prices.
The ad is exceptionally cool for freaks like me who get sensory overload in the grocery store. At the beginning of my grocery list (typically) I have items written generally, such as fruit. I then look at the different fruit on sale, what’s fresh and decide which things I want. But by the time I get to the other end of the store, that is all over. I just want to flee. Usually, I start to freak out right after the fruit if the store is crowded, in the breakfast aisle, or the yogurt.
Back to the ad and the list. I get all the sale prices onto my list with very specific brand names, etc. I can get pretty much all the way through the store without freaking out because I’m examining hundreds of products with all sorts of strangers next to me. I just get them and get out. Ahhh. The weekly ad list is lovely.
Except… last week I got brownie mix instead of cookie dough. Brownie mix was on sale; cookie dough was not. Okay, brownie for a sweet. This was a bad plan. The cookie dough I only make enough cookies for the people present. So if all four of us are home, then make eight cookies so we each get two. If only two of us are home, then make four. The brownie mix doesn’t work like this: I must make all of it. Alas, we ate all of it.
This is not good economy for the waistline since I lack self control.

I feel so fortunate I don’t live in a busy area. I just have to deal with Black men hitting on me. That is a cool feature, I sometimes lie in bed at night thinking what I need to put on my list. I’ve learned I’m bound to forget something every time I go. It’s like tax day, it’s just bound to happen.
