Christina Applegate Breast Cancer Decision

I can understand this decision completely. And attitude can be everything.

ABC News: EXCLUSIVE: Applegate Underwent Breast Removal to Stop Cancer

“I didn’t want to go back to the doctors every four months for testing and squishing and everything. I just wanted to kind of get rid of this whole thing for me. This was the choice that I made and it was a tough one.”

But Applegate is healthy and calm now, due to both her unflappible
sense of humor — “I’m going to have the best boobs in the nursing
home” — and the powerful inspiration she gained from her mother, Nancy
Priddy, a repeat breast cancer survivor.

That would absolutely be my decision too. Cancer has hit three people in my immediate family, and none have survived it.

Come to think of it, I just spent 104 euros on bras today in my annual bra-shopping trauma er, trip. A voluntary mastectomy might not take too long to pay for itself…

I wish her well. I’m glad she went public with her fight; that couldn’t have been easy.

it was brave of her because her sex appeal was part of her early success. I have too many friends and family members who are recovering from breast cancer. I wish her well.
