Frog In North Georgia

Grandma called me last night and said that her cancer has returned, this time to her spine. She is in her second week of radiation therapy. I knew she was lying about her medical condition when she said she was getting another port and would receive a shot for her “bones.” This did not match up with the medical notes she handed me two weeks ago.

Bah.

I am very annoyed that she has kept this from me. She said she wanted me to have a happy Mothers Day and not worry. Yes, well, that turned out to be okay, since she didn’t take a sudden turn for the worse and I find out that way! Of course she has already told Hugh, who outranks me because he was born sooner.

She lectured me on the fact that she is an independent woman. Yes, I know that. I am still your next of kin you mad Frog. You should tell me when you are ill; so I can be on call to help you. Grrrr.

She says she feels fine. Although, I know she is hopped up on pain medication, which is unusual. We are going to visit Sunday. Saturday, her girlfriends are taking her out for her birthday.

DD is very excited because Grandma told her that she got a present for her. Now she says it’s her birthday. She would like a chocolate Ariel cake.
